    Hey,

Well My parents surprised me with a graduation present today–a Canon XSI. I know nothing about slr photography, but tend to pick things like that up quickly.

I needed a subject and my dog wanted some attention.

Heres the link to all of em: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24475879@N02/sets/72157604556942466/detail/

Finally, I have a question. This summer I am going to be working in British Columbia and want a cheap canon lens with a large zoom so I can take close-up pics of eagles and other wildlife. What would you recommend?

    Hey Jay-

I have the Canon 75-300 f3.5-4.6 IS and it worked well in Alaska for me.

    Hey Jay-

I have the Canon 75-300 f3.5-4.6 IS and it worked well in Alaska for me.  I think this lens is going for around $500.  I got some decent eagle shots, keep in mind that I was not using a tripod…

I can’t seem to find a canon 75-300 IS lens. could it be the 70-300 one? does any legit third party company make a similar lens cheaper without losing the image stabilization feature?
