    Folks,

My Dad, my brother and I are mulling a salmon trip next summer. Starting the process of planning the trip and we’re looking for a few recommendations on lodges.

We are looking for something fly-fishing specific, friendly to all experience levels (dad is an occasional flyfisher, bro is not yet), has a diversity of fishing possible, is remote but doesn’t take 2 days from Anchorage to get to, and has good numbers of fish. Sense is that this may be a special trip for the three of us – we’re looking for something that does it right in terms of niceness and experience (but is not over the top). Being able to target rainbows a plus as well.

Anyone have any thing that fits the bill?

Also, any recommendations on weeks / specific runs to try and target?

    Thanks!
    Scott

How much do you want to spend? How many days do you want to fish? What kind of salmon? Lots of them or fewer but bigger? Do you mind being around other people where you fish; lots, few, no one? My suggestion is to just start goggling lodges and see what looks good and then ask more questions.

These folks have treated me right on multiple occasions. They have three lodges….check out Kulik Lodge for a full-service deal. Check Brooks Lodge for a do-it-yourself situation. You can also do flyouts with them as they have their own fleet of floatplanes. The beauty of their service (in my opinion)….you get to ANC airport on your own……they will get you and your gear to the lodge. They make sure you get back to ANC in a timely manner as well.

Good luck and post a report.
