    I put a nasty scratch on my polarized filter while removing it from the lens (it hit the furled metal focus ring).

    Do some test shots varying the F-stop and conditions with the polarizer on and off and see what you get. The scratch will probably be most evident in high flare conditions like backlighting etc. Look at the upside though at least you didn’t scratch your lens.

    I would bin it – it will give you flare in hard light.

    BTW – have a look at the Rodenstock Polarizers, I just got one and it dumps on my Hoyas.

    Thanks for the advice! If the sun comes out again before May I’ll test it out. I did pick up a B+W 55mm.
