What about a macro ?
They’re grerat for shooting pictures of fish in the hand and all the details in fly fishing.
I don’t know what camera you have but I use Canon and they have a couple awesome macros.
The 50 2.5 and the 100 2.8, both are razor sharp.
The 50 is very light and somtimes if I want to travel light up a creek it’s the only lens I bring, it’s also a great lens for photographing still lifes and flat copy.
The 100 macro is one of the best and sharpest lenses that Canon make and will shoot life size ( great for small bugs and flys ) it’s also a very good portrait lens.
I think Nikon have a 60 that’s very good.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.
