    Funny Zach should start talking about monitor improvements in the photoshop thread….

    I’m about to buy an 20″-23″ widescreen monitor to hook to my MacBook.  I can get what appears to be a nice Samsung for a little less than half of what Mac wants for a display.  What’s the real downside here?  

    Any monitor recomendations?

    Warm up the credit card…..

    Samsung and Apple use the same LCD panels.

    so your just paying another $300 for a pretty housing (not that they don’t look great) and some usb ports?

    I’ve got a 24″ dell lcd’s, as well as a couple of 20’s, and as i understand it, both dell and mac use the same supplier for the actual screen.

    I guessed as much but figured there was still at least some variance in the actual LCD panels.
