Zach,
I see from the photoblog that you have been using primarily the Nikkor 18-70mm DX lens, and now you have the 12-24mm. I take it you obviously felt more limited by the 18mm and wanted to get wider. What kind of shots in particular did you feel were missing from your portfolio? Was there something about your upcoming trip that made you want to go wider?
I have a D40 with the 18-55mm, and am contemplating my next lens. I will be traveling quite a bit this year. I tend to like to go wide, as well, so the 12-24mm appeals to me. I also hear good things about the 18-200mm as a versatile lens, although the supply issues have driven up the price. Even so, I don’t like the thought of changing lenses out in the salt marsh or other harsh conditions, and that range would let me stick with one lens for most shots?
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.
