I think that the guidelines set forth are really in the interest of maintaining journalistic integrity in view of whats possible in Photoshop. W. Eugene Smith took great license in the darkroom and he was regarded as one of the greatest of all photojournalist. I think it come down to the ethics and reputation of a photographer. No one would question the integrity of James Natchwey but if you were a new photographer
