    Hey Guys-

I just wanted to bring to your attention that the Comments section of the photoblog allows you to “post” about each photo.

Zach, if you’d consider a non-fisheye superwide, you should take a look at the Tokina 12-24.

Thanks Matt.  I know there’s always the 12-24 DX, but I am not really sure how much of an advantage the extra 6mm gets me over my 18-70 DX.  I was thinking more along the lines of an older prime in the 10mm range.  The problem with that is I’d need to use it on a film body in order to get its full width.

    Welcome to the board, man!

Zach, just fyi- the Nikkor 12-24 is widely regarded to be about the same quality as the Tokina, for about 2x the cost.

As for the advantage of the 12mm vs the 18mm- it’s a lot more than you’d think.

    Thanks, Matt, that’s very informative.

Zach, I’m in southern New Hampshire, and I mostly fish the salt, usually for stripers & bluefish; although I do make the occasional road trip down south of Cape Cod to fish for false albacore and bonito from the jetties.
