    Our river’s blown right now and I’m battling off yet another eye infection, so it’s Braves baseball (unfortunately they are getting killed) and a day at the vise.

    Zach — Great looking baitfish fly.  I’m a big fan of the prominent eye on baitfish patterns. What are you using to build the head?  I’ve been trying to find a better option for the clear epoxy-type heads.  

    I’ve been adding a little extra read marabou to the throat for a ‘bleeding’ baitfish pattern — I think fish key in on the big eye and red throat, but it’s just my take.

    I’ve been adding a little extra read marabou to the throat for a ‘bleeding’ baitfish pattern — I think fish key in on the big eye and red throat, but it’s just my take.

    Try two bits of red rabbit fur twisted up and tied in on each side.  Really gives the effect of flared gills.

    Im still trying to get the hang of gluing the tail to keep the fly from fouling. Mine just dont come out like the ones I buy.

    I broke the hook in half on a 130# tarpon on one of those, It did stay buttoned for an hour though!

    New to site, nice bunker fly. They have been on the silversides alot here. False albacore are in and I’m headed out Sunday in search of them. Gotta tie some surf candies up
