    Firstoff i should probally appoligize for the pictures. crappy P&S stuff. still waiting for the macro for the dslr But it was thrown together quick for your viewing pleasure. This is one of my favorite smallmouth flies. I usually bottom bounce with it!

    Hook: Diiachi 2220 4x long streamer hook #2
    Thread: Danville 210 Denier Olive
    Weight: Dumbell Eyes and .020 lead wire
    Tail: precut Clawdad tail
    Body: Ice Dub Chennile (new material i am playing around with)
    Legs: Rubber Barred Olive


    attach thread

    attach dumbells

    wrap lead wire. cover with thread

    attach tail

    attach chennile

    tie tail totally in

    palmer chennile up and figure 8 around eyes. Whip finish and glue the head.

    restart thread behind eyes with 3 wraps. attach the legs around the top half of the fly (so it sits on the bottom easy)with a few wraps. and whipfinish and glue.

    Just found this forum doing a search on “clawdad”. What colors have you found work best?

    Olive, Black and Blue, Black, White, Brown, Rust
