Looking for local flies for photo project

Hey guys, I wanted to share a project I’m hoping to get started and here soon. It’s a fine art photography project titled “Of A Feather”, focused on local, unique or undiscovered flies. The intention of this is it approach publishers to develop this into a photography “coffee table” book.
 With “Of A Feather”, I’m looking to build a portfolio or collection of fine art photography of local and unique patterns from contemporary tiers, with the intention of being published as a coffee table book.
 Fly-fishing is much more than just a recreational activity. Rather, it’s an often-romanticized lifestyle that is part science, part art, part adventure, and part spirituality. As tiers, we know that the spirit of the flies is much greater than just the materials tied to the hook. There are stories, memories, discoveries and sometimes even fishy tall tales that come to life thanks to the feathers, fur and metal tied to the end of a line. All across the world, from high mountain streams all the way down to ocean flats, many have dedicated much of their life to the pursuit of chasing fish with a fly. “Of A Feather” is a celebration of that dedication.
 I want this project to go beyond the visual presentation of the fly and really get into the essence of what the fly is, and that energy that is shared amongst all fly fishermen. Along with the photographs of the flies I want to get the stories of the patterns from the tiers themselves. I’d like to answer questions like; Where are the flies home waters? Why was it developed and was it specifically for one location or as a general pattern? Was the design created to target a specific hatch that occurs in a certain time frame or a fly to use throughout the year? What experiences lead to the development of the pattern? Has it evolved over the years or is the current state of the fly the original design? Has the fly worked on non-intended species? What are some interesting success stories? The answers to these questions will provide insight as to what makes the fly pattern special. And to really capture the authenticity of the spirit of fly-fishing, I want the tiers to tell this in their own words, in their own handwriting. Not only will this be a collection of flies and stories, but rather it becomes a world wide collective memoir of the fly fishing community. This project is ultimately a collaboration with fellow fly-fisherman and tiers, rather than just me selfishly showcasing my photographic work.

So… I’m looking for tiers to participate in my initial development of this collection so that I may have a small sample to show when approaching publishers. Initially I’m looking for 20-30 unique, original patterns to photograph and the stories behind them. This isn’t limited to trout/salmon flies only. I’m interested in flies for warm water, carp, and salt as well.
The key is they have to be original patterns created by the person submitting. If it’s a fly found only in your fly box, that’s great! If it’s a fly you created and is found only in your local fly shop, that’s wonderful too.
