In the age of rabbit strips and synthetics, someone has to carry the torch for the classics…. 😉

I love the look of the thunder creek flies, but I’ve never tied or fished them.

    Nice ties Chris.

I make these pretty much as their originator Keith Fulsher does.

    Great ties and photos.

I’ve never fished a Thunder Creek, but have see people sing their praises.

nice batch of flies. I like the more traditional patterns for their aesthetic, almost nostalgic qualities. I’ve never fished Thunder Creeks, but then again I really don’t ever use streamers.
They look great tied up, how do they do in the water?

Nice ties…I have a few bucktail versions in my box, but I’ve always had better luck with a Marabou Thunder Creek. Cheers.

Chad – they fish very well, as long as they are kept sparse as they are intended to be tied.

have you tried using griffin’s bullethead tool to make thunder creeks?

    #56651

    No I haven’t.

I saw an interesting variation on the classic that added marabou or a zonker strip to the shank.
