does anyone have any suggestions to some good stonefly patterns that you may be tying?  Here is my attempt at a fairly easy fly to tie for a black stonefly.  It’s a variant on a few patterns that I have seen and I was wondering if anyone else had some that they would like to share.

    Hook: TMC 200R size 12
    Thread: 6/0 Black
Body: Larva Lace or Vinyl Rib (Medium)
    Thorax: Black Dubbing
    Overwing: Pearl Flashabou
    Legs: Black Round Rubber
    Tail: Black Turkey/Goose Biots
Weight: Round Bead (Tungsten or Brass)

Also, please let me know your comments, suggestions and/or criticisms of the fly.  Thanks…

    Fly looks real good.

Experimentally speaking, I see one of what I thought was my ideas has hit the Umpqua pattern book this year (doesn’t it always happen like that?
