
Haven’t tried these yet but they year is young. BUt they are too big to be midges so fry they stay as.
The Damsel above has so far proven to be a good stillwater trout fly but when soakeda and on active retrive it flipped because of those glass dumbell eyes.
So I do it now with the eyes under and a keel of lead as well.

Nothing is flipping this over.
As well as the typical floating gomphus I tied the above in brown for a sinking version. Not a true gomphus w/o the hour glass shape but effective nonetheless
