Simms G3 or G4 pro waders

Hey Guys, I am new here and was looking for some advice. I am in the market for a new pair of waders, and I am having trouble deciding between the G3 or the G4 pros. I know the G4’s lack a little bit of breathability because of the added 5 layer extending up. I was looking to see what you guys thought between the two. Any advice is appreciated. THanks

I have the g3’s and love them. I’m kind of rough on stuff and these are standing up well.

I think the best answer depends on your application…
 
How many days a year do you get out?
How many of those days are you on your feet vs. in a boat?
How many of those days are during the winter months?  
What’s your wader budget or in other words does your wife keep track of this kind of thing?
They are obviously both great waders, the difference how far up the wader the 5 layers go up, legs vs. through the seat and $.

I have G3s. Best waders I have ever owned, end of story. I’ll never buy a different brand so long as Simms keeps up the quality. In fact, I don’t really know when I’ll even need a new set, because they hold up so well.

I own both, and for me I like the G4’s. The G3 are good waders, but I’ve ripped the front pocket on mine getting my drift boat oars in there while rowing. The G4’s are nice for me in being able to zip up the pockets. The G3’s are easier to roll down to waist highs and do breath slightly better in the warmer months. So I guess it all depends on when and how your going to being wearing them.
