Get up with Cory at plug and play charters. He is more towards Newport,RI but well worth the drive. I caught multiple 30 lb stripers and 10 lb blues on the fly. He knows the deal. He can also steer you around Boston. Check to see what the bluefin are doing also.

If you want to stay right around Boston Harbor, there’s lots of fishing to be had, then you should get a copy of Jack Gartside’s “Fishing Boston Harbor” by going to the eponymous website and ordering. This book will tell you tons, one hint though would be that Jack chose to live in Winthrop, which is a peninsula on the north side of the harbor and has quite a good variety of spots in close proximity, that’s where I go when in the area, and Jack’s book explains how to fish the spots.

You can contact Dave Skok when in Boston. Dave will shore guide anglers in that area mentioned above. He fished alongside Gartside for years. You can google David W Skok and get all his info. He is a photographer, fly tier and shore guide.

Dave Skok is a good suggestion if he’s available.
Also if you PM me with your email I could send you the pages from Jack’s book that describe the fishing around Winthrop.

    Guys thanks for the help.

As it happens the guide I’d already booked is Dave and I did use him for pike earlier in the year.

I’ll let you know how I get on

    cheers

    Jack
