I’m sure I haven’t captured fish or images of the quality of most of you, but I’ll heed Zach’s call nonetheless…

I spent fair amount of time outdoors in May.  Some of it was near water and I got to spend some of that time with a rod in hand.  I probably should have made more of an effort to fish as we are expecting #2 any day now, but the things keeping me from the water have been worth the sacrifice.  Here are some photos from those hours I got to fish.

I’ve got to say “thank you” to those panfish who have helped me out this month:

    Redbreasts:

    Crappie:

    Bluegill:

    Fished some pretty smallmouth water:

And caught a bunch of non-panfish species as well (warm and cold-water), including these two beautiful specimens…

But, by far, the highlight of the month was my son reeling in (mostly on his own) his first fish (a redbreast from a spot on the Tidal Potomac):

Never got into stripers or black bass of the size I was hoping, the trout fishing was mostly slow, and I blew all my carp eats.  But the willing and colorful panfish really filled the gap this month.

    Jason
