Holy crap dude! Looks like somebody pulled the plug on your river.
Let me guess… Mosquitos brought little aprons and their own forks just to help keep your mind off your aching feet and ripped apart hands.
Oh Ida had words – “just shoot me!”

Nice that you got some fish though.

I’m betting not many folks have seen that part of the river

    ;D Ya think?
What part of what River? 😮
I think if I was going to fish that river I would leave the Kayak home and take the Mountain Bike.

    Fun stuff thanks for posting.
I’m hoping that this lack of rain and lack of anything to melt won’t mean our rivers will look like that this summer.
The rivers here are already are at August levels.

Zach it goes underground! No, thats my friend Dave. I’m down 30
pounds but I still have 20 or 30 to go. Even then I won’t be his size. Word is that this could be the only fly caught musky from that section ever.

Mike there must be a pretty substantial cave system there.

    Wow, that’s quite an adventure.

Dave googled our trail and the dry bed was 3.7 miles not 2!

Zach that area is known for its caves. Cumberland caverns is just Few miles away. There are also several rivers in fall creek falls park close by that go underground some of them have openings large enough to suck a kayak in. We’ll be more cautious in those areas.

Kinda sucks to find a 2 mile long losing stretch in the middle of your float trip. Bet you wont forget this one!

Here’s a crappy video I put together. I didn’t try hard on this one while shooting or processing it. It still captured Dave’s excitement.
