Fly Fishing Puerto Vallarta Questions

I am headed down to puerto vallarta in early march and was wondering is anyone has any experience or advice about the fishing. Have found a couple of websites offering fly fishing, but not many. Appears to be mainly an offshore fishing location from what I can gather. It would be a blast to get after some roosterfish on the fly. I have spoken to the folks at PV charters and they report modest success on the fly. Is this a location where one is better served going offshore for Tuna or Marlin?
