Who still sells them? Dancraft had a line at one time but the new ones are now sanded. I’d love to find a small stream 2 or 3 wt unsanded blank to build this winter.

The new Orvis Superfine touch would be ideal but I can’t find it at the custom rod shops yet.

If you wanted something a little different there is always fibreglass. The Steffen blanks are unsanded.

If you can get hold of some of the translucent glass blanks from Fred Paddock or Kabuto Rods in Japan, they can be wrapped up to look very nice. There are some pics of a Paddock blank on my blog.

I just finished a F. H. Paddock 3/4wt 7 foot three piece for my daughter. It is the Caramel blank.

I bought some unsanded blanks from MudHole a few years ago to use for repairs on broken rods that folks would bring me. Might be worth a call to check on availability.
