beauty justin! I use double handers from 12-14 feet overhead casting in the surf in California for striped bass. It puts a single handers to shame and then some. That looks like a sea run fish, when you mention the boca is it where the river meets the ocean or where it meets a lake? Do tell more! I have been really curious to hear about estuary fishing opportunities down there for sea runs where you would be so close to the ocean that all the fish would be as chrome as the one in your photo. Cheers -Loren

Hi Loren; no, the boca in question has no direct communication with the ocean, and this fish never saw salt in it’s life.

    Amen.

EVERYBODY should have a look at his (unfortunately) short segment on ‘single handed spey’. It was like I was watching black and white television, then someone came along and flicked on the colour button!

I had reason to rejoice 3 days ago as it meant that I was able to quickly cast to a fish (and hook) that 12 months ago I wouldn’t have been able to as I had no backcast room in that direction.

    More spey action please!

Well, that does it; I’m going to have to try and get ahold of this DVD.

I second Simon’s various works on spey casting; they are the best there is.
