    Your closest good fishery is going to be the Nantahala River below Nantahala Dam.

    youre actually REALLY close to the Tuckasegee also. But I’d go fish the Nantahala.

    I don’t know anything about that area, however, a buddy of mine put me onto the Fly Fishing Trail site.

    I know a great guide up there. Eugene Schuler, he does float trips on the Tuckaseegee, doing a float trip special for $225.00 here is his number  828-488-7665, he really knows his stuff and really nice guy!!! Tuck is great fishing, trout in the upper and great smallie fishing downstream!!

    I just got back last night and had a fantastic time up in Western NC. I caught absolutely nothing but can’t wait to go back.

    I really appreciate the advice some of you gave me before heading up to NC, even if I didn’t get to fish that much, so here’s a few more details.
