Now that the article is finally out, I can release these shots. Some of them have been in the photoblog before but not together like this. This was from a trip in summer 2010 that I took with my cousin Jake Campbell and my buddy Carter McLeod. They were super patient and helpful and I just really appreciated all their hard work and effort. It was hot and the fishing for browns was slow but they went to a lot of trouble to help get some cool spread shots for the article.
Pick up your most recent copy of Fly Fisherman and you can get the piece; I am proud of this one and think it’s one of the best articles I’ve ever written. Getting permission to use the Running Razorback was one of the coolest processes I will ever go through. Clay Henry, the editor of Hawgs Illustrated magazine and a big fly fisher, was instrumental in helping my request get all the way to the Athletic Director’s desk… and it just so happens he’s a fly fisher. AD Jeff Long cut through the red tape and made this possible and I find that extremely cool.
