Purchased a few DVDs on the Euro-Czech-French-Polish-etc. nymphing thing and have decided I’d like to give it a try.

Any suggestions on an all around Euro nymphing rod?

Grey’s Streamflex 10 ft 4 wt would be my first choice as more versatile than the 3wt.

Any 10-11ft rod in the 4-5wt class is about perfect.

If you have anywhere close by that deals with Loop tackle have a look at the Loop Opti Peak 11ft 3wt or 4wt. Fantastic rods for euro nymphing.

I picked up a 10′ 5wt XP and liked it very much. I caught a trophy with the same rod doing czech nymphing.

The Z-axis is really popular but the Sage 99 is another popular option. My guide in NZ likes the 99 best amongst the 3.

Just a follow up for anyone who builds rods.  Hook and Hackle has a rod kit to build a CZ nymph rod.
Here is a link to the sit.

Guys, I have no idea why you would want a super fast rod that casts 100′ when you only use leader and no line while euro nymphing…………..

Echo Shadow PE is a really nice euro nymphing rod and priced very reasonably. I have the 10.5′ 3wt and it can handle good sized western rainbows/browns very well. The butt section is more like a 5wt but the tip is nice and very sensitive.
