    a real good buddy of mine is having a son coming up soon and i wanted to buy him some cool baby gear…but obviously with fish/fly fishing theme…

    any suggestions would be appreciated!

    (it would have to be some place i can order over internet as i will be ordering from overseas….clothes and even art or small things for his room are what i am looking to get him!)

    If he’s really a good buddy and you’re up to drop some bank, a child backpack is a very nice thing.  It’s not fishing related, but it will do a lot to get him outdoors with a baby/young toddler.  I used one a lot for fishing and hiking with my daughter.

    hey gary, thanks for that ..it looks cool!

    actually, i am looking more for things gift – wise….like hats/shirts/figurines or something that have to do with fly fishing…even art i could get him to put on the kid’s walls …..

    but that pack looks awesome too..

    I think a nice piece of flyfishing art would be a great idea. Maybe a very colorful framed fish print. Check some of the stuff from Derek Deyoung or A. D. Maddox. Their “fish skin” paintings are very colorful. You could write a nice personal message on the back of the framed print that the child would have for a long time.

    Being a new father I have found myself looking for fishing themed toys a lot these days. I can say that this will be the next purchase for my little guy (thanks MoldyChum).  I think it’s the bees knees.

    Check out friend and fellow board member Paul Puckett’s art!  He’s great!  He painted a fish eye for me for Zach’s 30th that is amazing, and he’s doing these great super bright fish tails and really cool etchings, too!  I think a grouping of the colored etchings would look really neat in any room (nursery included) and would be something your friend’s child would be able to take with him as he grows up and enjoy for the long run.

    Check this out. They have hats, shirts, onesies (bodysuits), blankets, etc & a GREAT selection regarding flyfishing. Scroll down & check out the “infants” section. The “bugger” in short sleeve bodysuits is hilarious. Some really neat stuff.
