I got off work on friday at 2pm and hit Settles Bridge. When I got on the river there was a massive midge hatch but unfortunately all the risers were on the other side of the river and my rod just didn’t have the distance. I did bring 2 to hand and that was enough of a prize for me.

Today, I got to hit up Island Ford for the first time, when I pulled into the parking lot I met 2FlyGuy and JoeA from NGTO. We all went down to the river, it was mine and Joe’s first time to IF so 2FG showed us around and he immediately got us on to some fish. I probably ended the day with 7-8 bows and one carp to hand. I missed just as many and had 3 LDRs. All in all a great weekend especially with the White Christmas.

Nice job Wes. I see the little brownies are doing well upriver.

Are you sure that is a carp? I’d guess some sort of sucker.

Thanks Steve…it could be, I’m not to familiar with the different suckers…I just know they are all fun to catch

Looks like what we call a red horse down here except the color is off.

I was going to guess Red Horse as well. That is a sign that the water quality is exceptionally good!

Thanks for the clarification y’all…I knew one thing for sure that it wasn’t a trout
