I am always looking for good backpacking recipes.
Anyone care to share their favorites?
While looking at my dehydrator, I saw painters tape on my dehydrator trays and remembered another meal I dehydrated that goes over pretty good with kids and adults alike.
I make Backcountry Burritos, Ole’ !
I buy Big cans of Taco Bell FATFREE Refried Beans (Publixs or Kroger both have them) and dehydrate them , sometimes adding a can of Rotel Tomatoes with lime juice and cilantro to the mix.
I save the EXTRA Taco Bell hot sauce packs, when I visit Taco Bell and pack them in with the dried bean, a small whole onion, and a block of cheddar cheese, and a package of 6″ flour tortillas.
(footnote: tortillas pack well and keep well even in hot weather).
(bagels are another hardy bread that keeps in a pack)
