I’ll be in Alpharetta for Thanksgiving and I was hoping some of the folks on the board could toss me some info on shops to visit.

The Fish Hawk is a good shop right in Buckhead.  As long as you’re resigned to fish for stocked fish, you might as well fish the delayed harvest section of the river below Morgan Falls dam.

I was going to suggest the Fish Hawk as well, and you can spend some time fishing the DH before you head down there.

Dave, Also head up the road about an hour to Helen, and try some smaller water. Smiths creek, and Dukes creek are good choices in the fall/winter. The f-hawk can get you going or swing in unicoi in downtown helen.

Dave, I haven’t been, but those creeks Adam is talking about have some big fish in them….you might want more than the 3 wt.

With all due respect to my fellow Georgia anglers (especially Gary, who is just being helpful): screw the DH.

Greg, I’ve checked out Smithgall and had planned to see about reservations but now I’ll be taking my brother who’s never fly fished so I might take Zach’s advice and stick to my original plan.

Well, I had a blast in Georgia but I didn’t land any fish.
