Does anyone know if Cloudveil will be making fishing gear for 2011?

    Jason,

I don’t have first hand evidence, but Red Truck Fly Fishing (discount arm of Leland Fly Fishing in San Francisco) had a blowout sale on Cloudveil a while back and they said Cloudveil was getting out the fly fishing business as part of the marketing for their sale.

A real shame, they seemed to have some real quality stuff.

I was told by a person in the business, that Field & Stream purchased Cloudveil, is getting out of the fly business and turning the clothing end into “Wal-Mart” type marketing.

I wonder whether they will stand behind the 8x Pro Waders I picked up on sale last winter.

I would bet Cloudveil is done with fly fishing.

I wouldn’t mind getting a hold of another pair of Gore-Tex if I can find a deal like I got on the 8x pros.

You will need to get another pair since they don’t even last a season. More like CloudFail.

Or maybe the product sucked balls and the reps were just being honest……….

Their rep told you that?  With reps like that, no wonder they gave up on their fishing line…

Either way, I hate to hear that they are getting out of the industry, but if they are selling to a big box, I doubt that they are too concerned.

My patagonia wading jacket and my simms g3 waders are on season 6 with no worries
