My new book is out – finally. 240 pages, 64 pages of colour plates, flexi-cover with a dust jacket and self-published. Unfortunately it costs about $30 to air mail it to the US so I don’t expect to sell too many there.
Its called “A Few Great Flies …… and how to fish them”. Its fundamentally a saltwater book but in the end, in my view, fly fishing is fly fishing, they all have to eat and its a matter of putting what they might want to eat in front of them in the right way.
If anyone wants any advise on self-publishing ask away, although I’m about to go away for 2 weeks of fishing. Mind you I still have 2,400 copies to sell but I’m confident they’ll go. In time it will be available as an ebook.

Its my first self published book, previous 2 were published by established houses, 10% of retail price utterly sucks.
Disadvantages – its an awful lot of work, finding somewhere to store them. Unexpected stress levels.
Advantages – complete responsibility for the book, learning how to spell and punctuate more betterer,
