The Itinerant AnglerHey guys –
Got back yesterday from a weekend in the mountains with my old friend Charlie Cole. We went on a serious brookie excursion; overnighting into some pretty deep stuff.

Like our refrigerator?

Welcome to the Jungle. We got fun and games.

Charlie got short-struck by our biggest fish of the trip in this pool; a “monster” 8-incher. Probably like a five year old fish.
This is what it looks like on top.

MemberYuengling! One of my favorites. Wish we could get it in OH. One of the many things i miss about living in PA.
Beautiful brookies and shots, Zach. Killer stuff.

MemberVery nice. The fridge is neat. What kind of beer is that you are chilling? Yuenglings! I’ll guess you were in Tennessee.
Thanks ZachOct 4, 2010 at 11:26 pm #45407Corey Kruitbosch

Tim AngeliMemberLooks like an awesome trip. I’ve had just as much fun stalking 6-inch brookies as chasing trophy rainbow and browns. Respect on backpacking in a 12-pack too. Good stuff all around.

The Itinerant AnglerWe were in the Southern Appalachians, yes, but not in the Smokies.

Steve K.MemberZach,
You’ve got me stoked. I have the same type trip planned in a couple of weeks.
If someone could come up with freeze-dried beer….they’d make a million!!
Thanks for sharing.

The Itinerant AnglerOh yeah, and our “fridge” actually kept the two remaining breakfast beers from freezing overnight.

The Itinerant AnglerAnother question… why the chest waders?
Lows in the thirties that morning, plus a lot of wet creek crossings. I have a couple pairs of Cloudveil wading pants but they don’t fit me properly; the legs aren’t quite long enough for me so I can’t get my knees up. Lauren usually uses them.

Colin M.MemberYes you missed the camp food photo!
Nice stuff, i’d love to bring beer with me on backpacking trips, its just too much extra weight though.

The Itinerant AnglerOur camp was only about 1.5 miles in; not too bad.

So, again, why the chest waders?
