Hey yall, this is my first post to the board. I live over in flowery branch, ga and do most of my fly fishing on the hooch at Buford Dam where the boulders are just waiting to send you in for a dip. I’m need of some new boots and are looking at getting some better quality than my previous BPS felt boots. I’m looking at Simms and Korkers right now. I know that Simms is top notch, but I’m a little worried about how well the vibram soles will grip in the slick stuff. I live the idea of Korkers, but is there every a problem of the soles coming loose will on the water. If yall could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I’ve fished L.L. Bean Aquastealth soles for years, and been pretty happy.

I’m another Simms Rivershed guy and am extremely pleased.  Mine are the First Gen version with Aquastealth and studs.  Making a transition from felt to rubber came with a brief period of adjustment time but I’m glad I took the plunge.

I fish mostly small backcountry streams, larger creeks/rivers with rough freestone stream terrain and am quite pleased with their grip, support and comfort.  What I love most is that I can fish in the winter and snow no longer sticks to my boots! ;D  Also love that they don’t hold much if any water weight.

I’m going to try and see if my boots will make it a little longer…it wold be nice if I can make it until the new boots come out…but we will see
