While doing a search for a lanyard I came across Goertzen Adventure Equipment (http://www.goertzenae.com). Apparently this is a guy out of Missoula, MT who works out of one of the local fly shops and he makes handmade lanyards and a fly fishing bag along with some other items. I think the lanyards and bag are really unique and interesting. They have an old school look to them and look like they are built to last.
Does anyone here have either one of the lanyards or bag? If so, what are your thoughts/experiences? I would appreciate any thoughts or insights about these items. Father’s Day is not too far away and I need to start dropping hints.

Cameron told Joel about Joe. We checked out the website and then called to make an appointment to go by and meet with him.
He has made a half dozen lanyards for us, and some custom shotgun shell bags for carrying on the trap and sporting clays range.
Usually carried around the waist, but when I’m teaching, I’ll sling it over my shoulder.
On my personal lanyard, I asked him to covert the fly patch/wallet to a pocket to hold my Pentax W-60 point and shoot camera. Came out really nice and works perfectly. I also asked him to lengthen the lanyard so I can carry it side slung, over right shoulder and under my left arm, in stead of out front. I’ve only carried it a couple of times but I think I’m really going to like it hung this way.
That is a cool idea about converting the pocket to hold the camera. The more I hear and see of his stuff, the more I like it.

Here’s a shot of my lanyard. Well, part of it anyway.
Based on the positive feedback, I just ordered a lanyard from Joe. He is going to customize it a little for me. I ordered the box style lanyard and he is going to customize it to fit a medium size C&F waterproof box. He is also going to add the leader & license pocket on the back and a foam fly patch between two of the attachment points. I will post a pic once I receive it.
I have put in a request for the creel bag on my Father’s Day/birthday/Christmas wish list.
Dang you fellows…I’m thinking hard about having Joe make me up one to hold my point and shoot camera.
