They are NICE, but very heavy, especially the 14 footer. If you go to their web site, you’ll see they are coming out with another 12 footer that is going to be a tad lighter.

We carry the 14ft in the shop and have the 12ft. on the way in a few days. I like the concept but I rather be in a drift boat or on a jet sled.

I love the Native Watercraft ultimate series, but I am going to test a freedom hawk out this year.

I am a kayak guide in Florida and I fish out of the Native Watercraft Ultimate 14.5. In my opinion, the Ultimate is THE ultimate fishing kayak. It’s fairly fast, very roomy and extremely stable. That I can stand and fly cast is a big plus.

I’ve looked at the Freedom Hawk and it appears to be a quality fishing kayak. Didn’t see anything wrong with it, although it’s a tad pricey.

I like to stand and pole my boat over the flats. The Ultimate is perfect for poling and sight-fishing.

I have a Native Ultimate 14.5 as well and I love it. I even take friends out for reds and in deep brush for bass when the boat is set up for tandem. When I fish like that I normally stand and pole from the back. It is super stable and very fast.

I have never used a freedom hawk or seen it used, but I do like the concept. I feel it would be rather slow though.
