Nice Job BG! Those crickets were a blast!

I had no idea crickets had religion, guess I’ve been leading a sheltered life. 😮 ;D

Congrats, nice shots, and a good spread.

BTW – What’s the fly and where can I get some ?

HA! Thanks for the words fellas. It was a fun adventure, can’t wait till the next infestation ; )

David – here are the two patterns I used from Rainy’s Flies. It makes a mouse pattern look tiny! ; )

Nice flies.  I like the top one.

reminds me of what our local pattern was last year on the central pa cicada emergence.

    This is what we used:

    easy tie.

Kalvin, save yours up.  only 16 more to go.  sigh.

    Dude….mine are under glass!!!

For those that don’t know; Dave nailed a LOT and I do mean a LOT of really NICE wild browns during this hatch. Down side is it only occurs here once every 17 years!

I was working in Iraq and had seen several of Dave’s posts on a local board and contacted him to ask a few general questions. What I got in return was the how, when and where in exact detail…and when I got home a half dozen flies he tied and shipped were awaiting my arrival.

My trip home was delayed 11 days and I ended up missing the whole event but ask your self…..How many dudes would tell in detail where, when, and how they are catching fish of a life time out of these particular streams and on top of that throw in a half dozen of the magic patterns!!!

    THANKS AGAIN Dave!!!

BG…great article and photos.  Thanks for sneaking in the T.F.M. Spotting photo too!  T.F.M. makes it into THIS IS FLY!  I’m excited.  HA…

    Dave…great cicada photo.  I like.

I agree with several that commented that it is pretty cool to see so many of the I.A. crowd showing up published in print and online too.

The top one was a producer.

Cool pattern… bring that out this way in the spring for the Cicadas. I’m certain it will hunt out here as well.
