MemberDrakes are going off right now as well as…yep the Shrimpy’s! PT’s the norm as well as small midges, take your pick. Check in with Dragonfly Outfitters as well and look out for some Kok’s swimming up around that time as well possibly. Good luck and bring back some pics for us

Cameron MortensonMemberLast night I sorted gear, figured out which clicker reels would go with which glass rods I’m taking, and organized several fly boxes for the trip.
Check them out and let me know if I’m missing anything. I left some foam open for adding a couple dozen flies when I get to Almont.

MemberCameron . . . I can’t comment on specifics because I’ve never fished that area.
However, I can safely say that it is my stated goal to be able to pack for a trip with only four fly boxes. Strong work!

MemberCameron,
The Taylor at the Dam, the “Hawg Trough”, as it’s know, steals a lot of flies from you. I hope you will be taking a tying kit with you. I lost 4 flies in 20 minutes of fishing it, more than I lost the two other days on the other water.

MemberI was frantically trying to get my boxes in order last night, but now that I have seen these photos…I think I’ll just bum some flies off of you…ha.
I’ll just bring my box of Royal Wulff’s in various sizes.

MemberSan Juan worms will absolutely catch fish in the Hog Trough. A good buddy of mine has caught numerous big fat 20 inch plus trout on the Taylor this year. Most of them caught on a SJW. More muted colors typically.
What Jay said. 😉

MemberFellows…preferred size and colors on the RS-2’s and SJW’s? I might bust out the vise this week and knock out a few dozen to round out the boxes.
