I will be traveling in Canada for a week and I have a couple of days off in and around Vancouver next week. I am looking to do a day trip in the Vancouver area, so if anybody has any hook-ups or experience with guides in that area , I would love to hear about them.

Theres a western fly fishing board you can check. The only person I can think of thats out that way is Courteny Oglivie (spey).

Just an fyi BCs non resident liscensing is fairly over he top. They really stick it to non residents, especially if you want Steel. You need a regular non resident, then pay surcharges for some species, then date and water specific liscences..

TWiles, I am pretty excited, and I start out tomorrow on the Fraser River . I am not sure of the location for Friday’s trip, but I am sure it will be great also.

Well , I am sad to leaving Vancouver tomorrow. I love this place, and I will definitly be back at various times of the year. I really enjoyed the fishing, and the Fraser river is a beautiful place if you ever get a chance to fish it. I fished the lower river for Sturgeon, with some great catches in the 7ft. 200# range. I was with some of the guys from the band I work for, and they also had a blast. I also fished the upper section of the river for salmon, and that was a blast also. I wish I could show you the expression on a guys face when he set the hook on a 25 0r 30# chinook salmon for the first time. I love to see other people catch a big fish.
