Because 6-8 weeks is the time gap between issues of any magazine that comes out only 6 times a year (as all fly fishing magazines do, except those that come out even less often).

I understand that and it makes total sense. However, that is not the case hear. The new subscription was done approximately 3 weeks prior to the current issue reaching the stands. If they are waiting until the next issue, I am totally ok with that. They have led me to believe that my first issue will be the issue that is currently on the stands and has been since the beginning of July.
