Any one used Absaroka Beartooth Outfitters?

Hello one and all

I am about to book a pack trip for August with Absaroka Beartooth Outfitters in Montana, http://www.absarokabeartooth.com. Just wondered if anyone has used them before and has any feedback for me by any chance?

Any advice, recommendations appreciated.

Cameron runs a first class outfit. Enjoy your trip! That country is spectacular and contains lots of good trout water.

I went in their shop (Cooke City) during the summer of 2006 when the heat wave had hit Yellowstone. The owner (I believe his name was Tommy) pointed me to some productive water high in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. I purchased the applicable quads and trail maps from him and we ended up having a blast. He told me he was selling the operation and moving back to his family’s ranch which he recently re-purchased. He planned to continue outfitting, primarily elk hunters. I believe Cameron Mayo may have purchase Absaroka Beartooth Outfitters from him in the past couple of years.

As Will said….breathtaking country just north of Cooke City that many folks overlook enroute to the Park.

Thanks very much for the response guys. I did speak with Cameron on the phone and he seems like a good bloke. So I will be booking the trip.

The whole concept of a pack trip is pretty novel for me, and also the wilderness will be unique – not much of that scenery here in Australia! Should be great fun.
