    I am looking at the Abel creek LA#2 to put on a 4 wt. Good solid reel like the looks and I am trying to balance a 10′ rod so the extra weight is a good thing.

    I have no experience or knowledge with a click/ pawl drag. I want to protect light tippet (I know the flex of the rod may have more to do with that than the reel but that is covered) and I have never been in a situation with trout at least where a reels drag was the reason I lost a fish.

    Any thoughts????

    I use the old versions on alot of my trout rods…

    The old Abel TR series.
