Wet Wading is almost Here!

I love to wet wade, trout streams/rivers when the weather warms up. Does anyone have a review of the Simms Guard Sock?

I have tried the sandals and just didn’t like them. I want more stability around my ankle so that is why i am exploring this option.
I wet wade quite a bit and I wouldn’t do it any other way than with neoprene guard socks under wading boots.
Love mine as well. They help keep the feet warm in early spring when that tail-water cold is still around. Plus, I am not constantly dumping gravel out of my shoes like I would be if wearing sandals.
D.Just used my Simms Guard socks to wet wade the Llano River here in Texas yesterday. I normally wear them with a thin pair of Simms wet wading socks or Smartwool socks and everything is good to go.

I purchased a pair of Simms headwater boots and the Simms guard socks to use while wet wadding. The boots are light and provide good ankle support and the socks are great but as stated above are thinner than Simms neoprene stocking foot waders. My only regret is that I got the felt ones and this year they have the new soles.

There is a good chance we are wetting lines in the same locales; shoot me a pm, and we could get together some time. Rarely do I see another fly-angler where I typically fish, but when I do, I cannot help but think that I know him somehow!
D.And Shane, if you are on the Llano, I guess you dwell amongst the TX hippies, John Michael’s turf. You should come up as well. We really should get a TX outing planned. We have grown considerably over the past year.
