So a few of us are headed down to Boca to chase some Tarpon next month and all I can say is….man I can’t wait! Staying out of the Pass with all the masses and spending more time in the backcountry and going after Juveniles. Hopefully we can get luck with the fly rod and maybe do some night fishing as well. We’re hitting it on a new moon but not sure if we’ll luck out with the Hill tide though.

Any tips since I’ve fished all over Florida before but never in the Port Charlotte area and unfamiliar with the layout and targeted areas. I’ve hooked a few tarpon before but just looking for any tips about fishing this area, bridge areas to look at for the day/night, possible DIY possibilites since we have a guide for a few days but also going solo and may do some kayaking or rent a flats boat ourselves.

    Thanks~

who is your guide out of?

give jason lynn a call at boca grande outfitters. give him a shout out for me. don’t let fletcher give you any advice, he’s full of nonsense.

i haven’t fished that side of the state since college so i’m no good as a reference, other than directing you to jason

Rob thanks for the post and yes we have a few guides set up (3) and can’t wait to get on a few. Just trying to get a little inside info on bridge, night fishing or anything else area wise to help us~

Last spring I went about the same time you’re heading out there but I was a little further south…closer to Naples.
