Okay, I’ve lived here for eleven years.  This past week I find out that there are two places in Alabama where trout reside.  One is the tailwaters of Smith Lake.  The other is a creek that runs through Tannehill State Park.  I was a bit surprised. I’ve focused on saltwater so much that I’d pretty written off trout fishing unless I drove back home to Arkansas or went to GSMNP. How’d I miss this?

Have any of you fished these places?

There are actually three places – the 3rd being Madison County Lake in Nov-Jan each year.

Check out this forum as these guys fish the Sipsey Fork tailwater all the time:http://www.alabamariverfishing.net/

Additionally, give Brandon and Mary Carole Jackson a visit at http://www.riversideflyshop.com/index.html.
