MemberI will not dare air out my own feelings here, this is your opportunity to rant, or celebrate what you received in your stocking, or however you celebrate the holiday…
Chime in!

Memberno stocking this year… But I am not upset about it. We had a long year of replacing junk that we had before a house fire. There was really nothing new that either of us needed.
I did get a new tripod…. and My camera was stolen the week of Christmas. What do I do with the tripod now? That was a bummer.

MemberHolidays are never disappointing as long as you have your health and your family to spend them with!

Cameron MortensonMemberWe had a great Christmas with family and friends. This was the first Christmas that the wife and I didn’t exchange gifts with each other at all. No loss…since I don’t want for to much that I don’t end up getting anyways. HA…

Seeing Christmas through the eye of a child, ours a three year old little girl, is amazing…and we enjoyed that thoroughly.
I did however add some cash to the kayak fund, got The Drift DVD, and a autographed copy of the book Rises and Rhododendron.

The Itinerant AnglerRight before Christmas I had the great pleasure of coming home to find that a pipe had frozen and my house had the equivalent of a swimming pool’s worth of water flowing through my middle floor and out my garage basement.

MemberI got to watch my old dog Esther retrieve a duck from some thick flooded timber.

MemberI got quite a bit of fly fishing stuff, but probably the biggest highlight for me was spending a couple evenings with my brother, drinking his homebrew IPA and showing him how to tie a couple of fly patterns.

MemberZach… That sucks and the wet and the cold are hard to deal with. I will give a shout out to the folks who rebuilt my house and work on Insurance work. If you are in the Atlanta Area and you have a house claim of any type, these folks do things right… Southeast Restoration – 770-345-3500. All they do is insurance work and the owner (Ben) is a fly fisherman. It is always hard to find someone especially when you feel desperate when looking at the mess. I have no stake in this Company but they are the best group of folks I have ever dealt with. I could go on and on about how good of a job they do.

The mold thing is crazy how it spreads. After our fire, I would walk the house daily and I could almost document how fast the earth was taking back the house. I say this because I believe it is sort of a testament on how quickly the Planet can heal itself after the messes we as humans may cause. Only if we humans would let the earth do its own thing… Sorry, I started preaching a little.
