Lanier, at 1053 ft, is currently 17 feet below full pool level (1070 ft), true, but the fifty year average for this day is actually only 1064 ft. On December 27, 2007, the lake was at an all-time low of 1050 ft, meaning it’s actually gained year-on-year by about three feet, which is a heck of a lot of water in a lake the size of Lanier.
