The weather has been outstanding this autumn. While I’m ready for the cool rainy change that will bring out the BWOs, it’s been fun having enough PMDs around to keep the fish looking up. And the craneflies have been buzzing like mad, driving fish into a frenzy. The chases and strikes are unreal.
Recently, we poked around a nearby spring creek:



And we spent a few days tossing tiny dries on the local tailwater:


The autumn colors have been awesome:

And the mornings have been cold enough that there’s no rush to hit the water. So, we find things to do while waiting for hatches and rising fish:


It’s been a great autumn so far!
