Decided to get a new carp rod. I love my Z-axis but I wanted a little more power for when I fish Lake Michigan. So I picked up a TCX. I’ve already had it out on the local creeks for carp and it is awesome, not to mention it looks sick too. I think I’m starting to have a problem with this whole carp thing, I’ve even been thinking about a carp tattoo.

    Very nice…………

but I was talking with the Ross rep yesterday.  I played with that new Ross 7’11” FC (I asked if the FC stood for fucking cannon)  Wow…… and for $179 with a life-time warranty, that will be my new carp rod.

I’ve cast the 9ft #5 version of the TCX and I think it sucks. Way too stiff.

Nice rod and looks like it should do the job. I prefer my TCR or mostly XP for my Carpin. I actually use a 7 or 8 wt while river fishing to keep those fiesty fish out of the trees and structure so the more power the better for me but my 6 wts work perfectly on the lakes~

You know I think I am with you on that one. And Sage is not the only one doing it . . . While fast rods are interesting, and they have the ability to throw a lot of line . . . .

I would love to see that A2 sounds sweet! My lake fishing I like to get there quick and dead on so my Sage’s do the trick, for Rivers (i’ve broken 2 tips in 2 years) I’ll use an older St Croix or no name since mostly jigging and they get get beat up during river scouting/climbing and flies getting hung up in trees/structure

Wayne, the Struble U15 HG fits the Scott A2 blanks very well – I got the ‘blue’ which is more like gunmetal grey, a good match for the blank.

    Best Regards,

I was leaning towards a REC RSLS with a 1″ fighting butt. I built on a Scott A2 7wt a few years back and used an REC seat and have not been disappointed.
