    Anyone has experience with this ?

    using a WF7F line with a SAGE TCR 691 rod?

    I just bought this rod and Im afraid it wont cast close. đŸ˜•

    It will cast at any range, but it will certainly handle an extra line size or even two.

    I don’t own one, but I don’t think TCR’s were designed with close-in casts in mind.  Buy something softer if you want to fish closer.  Those rods are for dialing long distance.

    The 691 is my favorite rod and IMO needs no over-lining to fish at any range.

    That said, one of the more aggressive lines like a GPX or Rio Grand will put a little more bend in one.

    I really like at SA Redfish line on mine for bass (Australian) and Jungle perch, because both are caught with larger flies into cover at anything from a few feet to a full line away.
