Outdoor monolith Patagonia is world-renowned for its environmental ethic, its engineering drive… and its high prices. Listen to Bill Klyn, head product designer for Patagonia’s fly fishing division, explain exactly what your dollars go to when you buy a Patagonia product – from innovative recycling efforts to the leave-no-trace ethos that defined the company from its very humble beginnings and continues to shape its products today.

    Enjoy,
    Zach

I remember reading about Yvon Chouinard in the American Alpine Journal in the late 60’s when he and a couple of guys drove a VW bus down to Patagonina a climbed Cerro Fitz Roy, one of the toughest climbs in the world. Hence the Patagonia name! The world could use more people like him! Check this link out to a article and video on Yvon. http://www.thesnaz.com/2008/05/09/return-to-the-outdoors-yvon-chouinard/

    Zach,

Great podcast. Found it really interesting since the shop I work for carries Patagonia. I basically live in their stuff, and it’s all I wear when out guiding and fishing.
