Just wrapped up the first week of classes and decided I had to go pay some old friends a visit. I have neglected these guys all summer and felt I need to reintroduce myself. I decided to try out a new pattern this time, the fleeing crayfish from Rainy’s. I most say the results were pretty good.

Couple shots of playing a carp in the shallows.

Bringing him in for a landing.

That’s a good little carp. I found that if you do rub their head they relax and make it very easy to handle and get underwater shots on the camera.

All in all not a bad couple of hours landed 5 carp and missed 3 others. I do wish I had my 6wt. Z-axis back from Sage, I still feel naked going out and fishing without it. Although, it was fun catching the carp on a 5wt.
